Garage Door FAQ
Fast answers to common questions. Don't see yours? Just call.
Are you available 24/7?
Yes. We're open every day, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Emergency spring repairs and off-track doors are always prioritized.
Do you work weekends and holidays?
Yes. We're open 24/7, every day of the year. Emergency calls are prioritized — we treat a broken spring like the emergency it is.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, check, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), Zelle, and Apple Pay. Payment is collected after the job is done and you're happy with the work.
How long does a new garage door installation take?
Most single-door installs: 3–5 hours. Double-door with new opener: 5–7 hours. We haul away your old door and leave the garage cleaner than we found it.
Why is my door extra noisy in cold weather?
Cold contracts metal and hardens grease, so rollers, hinges, and tracks get noisy. A tune-up with proper lubrication ($175) usually fixes it. If it's grinding or scraping, something's worn and needs replacement.
What cities do you serve?
Eastside: Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah, Sammamish, Mercer Island, Newcastle. South: Renton, Kent, Auburn, Federal Way, Tacoma, Puyallup. North (Everett location): Everett, Lynnwood, Edmonds, Mukilteo, Mill Creek, Bothell. Plus Seattle and surrounding areas.
Can I text you a photo for a quote?
Yes — text a photo to (425) 203-7777 and we'll review it and give you a price range. It's usually faster than a phone call for diagnostic help.
Are you licensed and insured?
Fully licensed (#NORTHGD753JW), bonded, and insured in Washington State. Verify at secure.lni.wa.gov.
My door won't close — sensors keep blinking. What's wrong?
Usually safety sensor misalignment. A bump, spider web, or dust can cause it. We can often walk you through the fix on the phone for free. If it's electrical or a bad sensor, we'll come out same-day.
Do you work with homeowner's insurance claims?
Yes. We provide detailed invoices, photos, and documentation for insurance claims — common after a car impact or storm damage. We'll coordinate directly with your adjuster if needed.
My door is off-track — can you fix it or do I need a new one?
Almost always a repair, not a replacement. Off-track doors are usually caused by a broken cable, bent track, or impact damage. We re-align the track, replace broken parts, and test the balance — same day in most cases.
Do you replace broken cables?
Yes. A broken cable makes the door hang crooked and unsafe to use. We replace both cables (always in pairs), re-balance the door, and test the safety reverse.
How much does a spring repair cost?
Spring repair starts at $350. Final price depends on spring type, door size, and parts needed. We give you a clear estimate before starting — no surprise charges.
Do you service condos and HOA communities?
Yes. Quiet tools, clean workspace, no mess. We work with HOA requirements and have experience with multi-unit properties across the Puget Sound.
Can I fix a broken spring myself?
No — torsion springs hold hundreds of pounds of tension and cause serious injuries every year. It's not worth it. We carry the right tools, parts, and insurance to do it safely.
Do you install smart garage door openers (MyQ, Wi-Fi)?
Yes. We install LiftMaster MyQ, Chamberlain, Genie Aladdin Connect, and other Wi-Fi openers. We'll set up the app, pair your remotes, and show you how to use it before we leave.
How long does a garage door last?
A quality steel door lasts 20–30 years with basic maintenance. Springs: 7–12 years (or 10,000 cycles). Openers: 10–15 years. Annual tune-ups can double the lifespan of springs and cables.
